For the Public

The Faculty of Law of Masaryk University offers information and complex services for the study of law and research work to students and its academic staff as well as the public. The Faculty has a library and reading room housing domestic periodicals and journals, foreign professional periodicals and a growing library fund of both domestic and foreign production. The Faculty’s library features the European Documentation Centre offering publications dealing with the European Union and the Council of Europe. In addition to these traditional sources of information the Faculty also offers a unique possibility of access to full text databases of foreign legal journals:

  • Beck online
  • Hein online
  • Kluwer Law Online
  • Oxford Journals/LAW + Archives

The databases are accessible from the Faculty’s computers and through connection to the Faculty’s Wi-Fi network. It is possible to use these sources for personal study and research needs. The Faculty also enables access to the electronic information sources of Masaryk University, such as the EBSCO (EIFL Direct), ProQuest Central and SpringerLINK.

The journals published by the Faculty of Law (The Journal for Legal Studies and Practice and Masaryk University Journal of Law and Technology) are also available for professional and non-professional public on the Faculty's web portal. The Faculty similarly handles proceedings of conferences held at the Faculty.

The Faculty of Law offers courses and seminars focusing on legal issues and changes of the legal order. The courses are taught by qualified professionals recruiting from the Faculty's staff and, where necessary, professionals from the practice.
