Before going abroad

STUDY STAY FUNDING

Funding for a study stay is available under a number of programmes administered by the MU Centre for International Cooperation. The range of programmes can be found on their website.  Other sources of funding are the Faculty Scholarship Programme to support internationalisation for PhD students and specific research projects.

ADMINISTRATION

At the faculty, the student must fill out a Learning agreement (if your stay is administered by the CIC) or a Foreign Activity Plan (if your stay is not administered by the CIC).
The LA/Plan is signed for the MU Faculty of Law by:
All mobilities not administered by the CZS (e.g. stays financed from a faculty scholarship programme): the supervisor;
European mobilities administered by the CZS (e.g. Erasmus+, freemover etc.): doc. JUDr. Tereza Kyselovská, Ph.D. with the consent of the supervisor;
Mobilities outside Europe administered by the CZS (e.g. Erasmus ICM, freemover etc.): the Vice-Dean prof. JUDr. Ing. Michal Radvan, Ph.D. with the consent of the supervisor.

In any case, it is essential that the student consults with his/her supervisor about the content of the study stay.

The stay must be entered into the "data record of internships, study and work stays" application (Student - Internships and stays) in IS. Instructions here. Any stay abroad longer than 14 days must be registered in the IS, regardless of whether the student wishes to have the stay recognised. However, we recommend that you keep a record of all stays, including conferences. Only stays with proper records (i.e., documents uploaded) will be accepted for study and listed on the Diploma Supplement.

Do not register any courses from abroad in advance - they will not be registered until after your return using the application to apply for recognition of courses from abroad, see the 'upon your return' section.

In addition to "registration in the IS", the student also needs to fulfil other requirements related e.g. to the award of a specific type of scholarship (registration of travel documents, etc.).

During the stay abroad

Within 5 weeks of the start of a semester at a foreign university, a student may request a Changes to Learning Agreement.

The process of making a change to a student contract is identical to the initial contract.

Before returning home

While abroad, the student must obtain a Transcript of Records, either on an MU form or issued by the foreign university. Sometimes universities do not send it until sometime after the end of the stay.

The student will have the Confirmation of Study Period (Confirmation of Study Period for Erasmus+) document confirmed by the foreign university - if the stay is administered by the CIC or a Foreign Activity Report if the stay is not administered by the CIC.

Upon return

Documents are entered by the student into the Record of data on internships, study and work placements in the IS. Instructions here.

The student must submit an application for the completed courses recognition into the degree program. The application for recognition of courses is submitted electronically in the IS (in the record of the study stay). Courses will be recognised in the manner specified in the Learning Agreement. Instructions here.
